What Causes Abdominal Cramps After Being Treated For IBS?

Hello I was treated for IBS and general bacterial infections 4months ago because I was having abdominal cramps. This did not help much. My doc didn t think there was anything major to worry about and suggested i re-visit my diet. I have been eating quite healthily but I still suffer from terrible cramps accompanied with nausea at around the same time every morning. I recently had a hormonal test with the T3 and TSH within normal range but the T4 at 22. Could stress be a possible factor for my cramps? Any suggestions on what other tests or things I can do. DESPERATE!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult a general surgeon and plan for an ultrasound scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
