Hello, i am a 42 year old male. For the last couple of days I have felt bloated and on the toilet every 20 minutes. I had noticed small amount of blood in my diarreah but it has subsided or not as bad as in the beginning. Do you think this could be food poisoning. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms you said can well be because of an infection in your vowel which is either bacteria or protozoa.

So the best idea would be to get your stool to be examined for any ova or cyst, and then culture if needed. That would be the best guide for the proper treatment.

Till that I would advise for good hygiene that is hand washing and a lot of fluids to be taken. This looks like dysentery which can be bacterial or amoebic.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman
