What Causes Abdominal Bloating After Taking A Morning After Pill?

I took the morning after pill within 24hrs and almost 2 weeks later I am experiencing bloating I never have before and my period is late. I took 3 pregnancy test all were negative. Is there any chance I could be pregnant and if not anyway to stop this bloating?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since you took emergency contraceptive pills in time & have three negative pregnancy tests you may not be pregnant. However, get clinically examined by a gynae to be on the safer side & rule out ectopic pregnancy.

To reduce bloating take antacids & PPI's, they are effective. Stay well hydrated & avoid constipation. Avoid taking junk, packaged food, cauliflower, sugar, alcohol or any food that causes gas. Take probiotics & digestive enzyme supplements.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
