What Causes A Visible Chord Under The Penis After A Hernia Surgery?

Hi, I had an operation to fix inguinal hernia on the left side. This was three weeks ago. I have since noticed for the last 2 days that when my penis is erect there appears to be a thin ligament or chord that is visible along my penis into my my body. The pain in my scar area has returned too This is rather uncomfortable, unsightly and creates a pulled up effect on my pubic area as this the chord is too short in length. I can only assume this could be the suspensory ligament, is this correct? If it is damaged is it possible to repair or, better still, will it return to normal. Thank you for your help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your experience of a visible cord on your penis followed by a recent inguinal hernia surgery i strongly believe it is due to your muscles around your groin region was stretch to appose together during suturing of the muscles and the skin
It is not a suspensory ligament rather it is the penile muscle it can not be damaged except being lacerated by sharp blade and also it will definitely cord will return to normal
Please take tablet robaxin tablet nurofen
I hope this helps
