Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes A Swollen White Area On The Finger Post A Burn?
I burned a small area on my left side by my nail of my middle finger getting a pan out of a oven over 430 degrees for at least 4 seconds trying not to drop the pan and then it was on fire burning and turned white instantly and now it s white and hard swollen and red all around
It sounds like you have suffered a minor burn injury on your finger from the hot pan. I would not worry, I would just make sure to keep the wound clean, and you can use some topical antibiotic ointment to help prevent any infection.
It may take several weeks to heal and leave a scar, but as long as there is not an infection, it should heal without any complications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
