Hi Dear,
Welcome to HCM.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have swishing sound in the ears long after treating
hypertension which can be caused by many factors like stress , temporomandibular joint problem , wisdom tooth , cervical spondolysis and increase blood pressure. Main cause of tinnitus is either overall increase in blood pressure or local increase in blood pressure do to blood vessel dysfunction. But in your case the symptoms are probably due to side effects of medication you are taking for hypertension. I would suggest you to
consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order certain test like
audiometry , CT scan ,MRI , low and high pitched ringing to rule out conditions like
hearing loss , exposure to loud noises , earwax buildup , middle
ear infection. Doctor may remove wax , prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory and supplement like
ginkgo biloba . In some cases doctor may also prescribe sedatives . For now do mind relaxing exercises like
meditation , which will be very helpful and try to keep yourself stress free .Doctor may also refer you to cardiologist to rule out side effects .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
