What Causes A Sudden Increase In The Heart Rate, Transient Vision Loss And Tinnitus?

This morning I experienced a weird episode. I first felt my heart beat a little bit faster & it felt like it was in my thoat then suddenly my vision went totally black then morphed into what I can only describe as if I was looking into akids toy kaleidoscope. At the same time I was experiencing extreme ringing in my ears which sounded like thousand crickets. Should I be concerned?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I don't know your age or your medical past history, but I suggest you to visit your heart at a cardiologist. I recommend you to do an ECG, a cardiac sonography , a 24-48 hour ECG holter monitoring, control your blood pressure and do some routine blood tests.
Its called lipothmia that that you have felt. It may have come from an arrhythmia ( supraventricular probably), a moment change in blood pressure or it may not have come from a serious problem .
All the best!
