What Causes A Small Red Blister Behind The Upper Arm?

I have a red/purple spot on the back of my upper arm. It looks like a small blood blister with a red ring around it. It shows up randomly for a week at a time getting worse then it starts to go away. It s about the size of a pencil eraser. Both my grandpas had skin cancer, and this time it seems a little worse. I feel like it s nothing, but I m starting to get nervous.

Hello,

A red colored blister with red ring around it could be due to infection. In case the blister is painful, it is likely to be infectious. I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and thus management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
