What Causes A Sensation Of Water Spraying On The Head?
My sister, who is 79, complains about sensations of being sprayed around her head. She had a MRI but the neurologist said there was nothing to be concerned about. She had a complete physical and is healthy with exception of high blood pressure which is now under control. She has been seen by an ENT with no serious problem diagnosed. What could the spraying sensations be?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
She seems to have peripheral neuropathy. It can be age wise/due to some pressure on nerves in neck (cervical spondylitis) / may be uncontrolled, long standing diabetes. Low blood B12. Please get her checked for these. Simple neck exercises would help in spondylitis. Good blood sugar and BP controlled is desired. Supplementation with B12 in case of low levels in blood would give relief. Consult your family physician.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
