General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be tonsillitis or inflammation of the tonsils. Antibiotics are the mainstay of the treatment and you can very well start antibiotics preferably Amoxiclav.

Do warm saline gargles for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist better to consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated. In severe cases, a throat swab may be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
