What Causes A Red Bump On The Waist Line?

I have a red sore on my right side at the waist line. It is a raised bump about an inch in diameter. It has been there about one month and does not appear to be getting bigger. It is not painful, but itches a little if I scratch it. I Ha ve had hip replacement surgery 5-6 years ago, as well as a prostate terp. My primary care doctor looked at it, didn t know what it was, so is referring me to a dermatologist. Any info would be appreciated. YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for your query on HCM

"As"per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this-

1)Do a clinical examination by your family Doctor and do investigations like [CBC with differential]to confirm it.

2)Discuss prescribed medication like [Acyclovir]

To prevent any complications in future you can discuss varicella-zoster vaccine (Zostavax] with your Doctor.

Hope that helps
