What Causes A Persistent White Bump On The Vaginal Lip?

I have a white. Bump on the outside lip of my vagina and I went to the doctor and she said it was a c y s t s that would go away on its own but it itches and gets irritated after sex and it's been over 2 months and it hasn't went away what should I do?
