What Causes A Painless Hard Lump On My Son S Neck?

My 7 year old son has a large (greater than 1 inch), hard lump on the side of his neck. It is located right below his jaw bone on the left side. He has not had any illness recently and the lump seems to have gotten bigger of the last couple of days. He says it does not hurt. What can it be?

You need to do an MRI imaging to know what exactly it is. It may be a lymph node, lipoma or even a tumor. But we can be certain by imaging.
