What Causes A Painful Lump On The Lower Buttocks?

I have a very painful lump on my left butt cheek. It has grower very large and starting to turn a little purplish color. It is very difficult for me to sit down and I feel pain when ever I touch it. I have been putting a hot rag on it but the pain is growing worse. What could this be?

Hello,

The painful lump points more towards abscess formation. For that physical examination of the lesion should be done and if abscess confirmed then incision and drainage should be done to drain it.

Topical Neosporin then can be applied over that. You can post a photo of the lesion to comment further.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
