What Causes A Painful Line On The Left Side Of The Skull?

Hi I m 25 going on 26 recently I ve noticed a line in my skull on the left side . Starts just above about a half inch above left eye brow and goes diagonally up my skull to the left . The line and around it is painful. I do not recall hitting my head. Could this mean I have cancer or a tumor? What kind of things cause this? I m worried I have no health insurance and live out in the country .

Hello,

The symptoms you explain are not due to cancer. The line in the skull, that started above the eyebrow line and goes up the skull is one of the lines between the small bones that make up the skull and they are normally present. So, the presence of the line is nothing to worry about.

Try to not press on the skull as local pressure from regularly touching there may cause you to sense pain and make you worry even more. Take some paracetamol and ibuprofen to help with the pain.

If you are worried or you see no improvement or you feel you are any worse it may be best to see your doctor.
