What Causes A Painful Dent On The Head Upon Self Injury?

Hello, I banged my head pretty good about a week ago on the corner of a solid wood cabinet... my head wasn t bleeding nor did I get a headache etc.... but it was extremely painful and still hurts just as bad.... I noticed today I have a dent where hit my head... I can fit the tips of two of my fingers perfectly in... may I ask what may have cause the dent and if I should have a catscan or mri done...... thank you

Hello,

A CT scan has to be taken to look for any depression which impinge on the brain.

In most cases it will not cause any problems. It the dent is impinging on the brain matter, it has to be elevated.
