Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a bump on my clavicle bone and a lot of pain for about a week. Orthopedic Dr. gave me an injection in my shoulder but is sending me to physical therapy to see if bump goes down and pain gets better. I don t feel well and the pain is not easing up. Should I still try to schedule PT even though he did not x-ray collar bone? I am also running low grade fever and have no appetite.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
I understand your concern. The limp you describe without relief with injection needs to be reviewed. By the time you can try with over the counter pain medicine like Ibuprofen pills after food (this would help in case of local trauma or infection).
But it needs imaging investigation(X-ray/MRI) as per advise of orthopedic surgeon. It would help in excluding/conforming any cyst or tumor which needs specific treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale,
General & Family Physician
