What Causes A Mushy Lump On The Finger With Clear Liquid Discharge?

I have been bitten by an insect while cutting grass. the bit left a bead of blood similar to a pin prick. Now the tiny hole is leaking a clear liquid none stop. There is no pain. One other symptom is a soft circular quarter size mushy or soft area at the bite sight. i don t know what bit me. What could it be? What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

Following the insect bite,an allergic reaction has developed.Kindly clean the area with soap or antiseptic solution.Antihistamines and steroids need to be taken to reduce hypersensitivity.

Injectable antihistamine can also be beneficial. Kindly do not poke the swelling or try to drain fluid which can lead to infections.

Hope that was helpful.Let me know if i can assist you further.

Regards
