What Causes A Lump On The Body After A Fall?

I fell down some stairs about 3 years ago and since then the bruise turned into a lump with a dent beneath it. I believe the lump is made of scar tissue. I have tried cupping which reduced the bump slightly, but only temporarily. Even when I tried the cupping, the bump still showed through clothing. I have called a few different places to get a consultation, but they all want to charge me $150. One place told me there was nothing I could do. Another said liposuction would probably do the trick... I am not sure that answer makes sense, unless they are implying a fat graft combined with lipo, which seems like more of a band-aid than a real solution. I don t want to waste my money. I have done a lot of research and can t get a straight answer anywhere. Your help is appreciated!

Hi,

Dermatologic conditions are hard to discuss without seeing them. That being said, your take on the matter is basically exactly what I would say. Except more so. A bruise can develop calcium deposits. It would be hard as a rock. Obviously, it is hard to suck out a rock. If it is a scar, likewise. Sometimes it can also develop into a fluid-filled cyst in which case the lipo (or the less expensive aspiration) will work but the fluid comes back unless the entire cyst is removed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
