What Causes A Frequent Urge To Urinate?

The past few weeks I have days where I have a frequent urge to urinate though nothing much comes out. There is no burning or pain. There are days when it s annoying and other days when the problem isn t there. It never keeps me up at night. I have a doctor appointment and am having tests done regarding secondary infertility but I am just wondering what this new frequent urge to urinate is. Oh and sometimes what does come out is really smelly, or maybe that s more vaginal odor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
In most people the bladder is able to store urine until it is convenient to go to the toilet, typically four to eight times a day.Needing to go more than eight times a day or waking up in the night to go to the bathroom could mean you're drinking too much and/or too close to bedtime. Or it could signal a health problem.Frequent urination can be a symptom of many different problems such as:
-Urinary tract infection
-Diabetes
-Pregnancy
-Interstitial Cystitis
-Overactive bladder syndrome
-Stroke or other neurological diseases

I suggest you to consult your physician and get an Ultrasound of lower abdomen and Urinalysis.
Hope you get better!
Best Regards
