Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi! I developed a swollen area about 1 x 2 cm next to my chin and about 2 cm below my lip. It started as a nearly invisible and much smaller area that felt like a minor scrap. The skin surface felt like a mild sting at the beginning. Then over 2 days it quickly grew in size to about 1 x 2 cm and is red but not bright red. This is the 4 th day and it appear not to be growing anymore and it does NOT look like a blister. There appears to be a 3 whitish heads under the surface but no sign that they will rupture. This bump is elevated about 2 or 3 mm and feel like it is fluid filled, but also somewhat like there is a soft solid material under the surface. No pain other than the mild stinging sensation at the very beginning for a few hours. As it began to swell it became numb. Still numb but no pain or itch. The only possible cause I can think of could be a few drops of a caustic bathroom cleaning foam product with chlorox that splattered on that part of my face. I was in a hurry and may not have rinsed it off well.
