What Causes A Bump With Hair Loss On The Head After Hitting It?

I was thrown off golf cart and hit back of head on concrete three weeks ago. Had CT scan and was told I had closed head injury. Hair is now falling out in area that I hit in a clump with what looks like a scab attached to end. There was a huge knot, still have a small knot. Is this normal? Will hair grow back?

Hi. I would need to know what you mean by a "closed head injury". Did you sustain any intracranial injury? It sounds like you certainly sustained a scalp haematoma. This has clearly caused distress to the hair follicles resulting in your hair to fall out. It is likely that the follicles will recover and hair will grow again from the root. This may take some time. If the scalp was injured to such an extent that the follicles were irreversibly damaged, then your hair may not grow back - however, I think this is unlikely. I hope this helps.
