What Causes A Bump On The Lower Leg After An Injury?

I fell and hit my shin really hard about 2 weeks ago. I have a big bump still and the lower part of my leg down to the side of my foot is all bruised. A few days ago the bump has become itchy ( the bump is not bruised). Should i go to the dr? Is this something to be worried about?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be related to the injury.

I suggest using cold compresses at the bump area.

I also suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms.

I recommend using Cetirizine for the itching.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
