What Causes A Bruise On The Neck, Blood In Stool And Tiredness?

Hello. I developed a mark on my neck that looks like a hickey, but is not. It just showed up a few days ago. I haven t hurt it, and I haven t been carrying any heavy bags that would have rubbed it. I also started having blood in my bowel movements a few days ago as well. Otherwise, I feel fine, just a bit tired. I m curious if the issues are related or if I should be overly concerned.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Probably you might have either Viral or Fungal infection in neck. When i think of Viral infection, first thing come to my mind is Herpes viral infection. YOu have to take antiviral drugs like Acyclovir after consulting your family physician. These drugs will reduce the symptoms and severity of herpes infection.
if it is a fungal infection on inspection, i would prescribe you antifungal drugs.

Further Blood in stools in not related to this herpes infection. It is necessary to quantify the amount of blood lost and frequency to assess the nature of disease. I would like you to consult your family physician regarding this issue.

Thank you.
