What Causes A Bleeding Protrusion From The Navel?
Hi, My son has a protrusion from his belly button, sometimes it bleeds. He is over 30. a dr in an emergency room told him it was a hernia, gave him some gauze, and told him he needs to find a surgeon to fix it. He doesn t have insurance. Could this be something other than a hernia?

Protrusion from navel suggest towards umbilical hernia. For hernia surgical management is definite treatment If possible than laproscopically operation can be done in which hospital stay is for short duration. For pain and inflammation Ibrufen can be prescribed. Consult surgeon for examination and accordingly your management plan will be decided.
