What Causes Dryness Of Throat?

i am satnam singh/Male/76yrs and i have been suffering from dryness of thorat during while sleeping at night , i had wake up around midnight and then i had to take some warm water and eat something sweet to subdue high dryness in my throat , kindly advise

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems the most probable cause for Dry throat at night seems to be due to mouth breathing habit while sleeping..
Due to mouth breathing you might be having dryness of mucosal surfaces due to exposure to air..
I would suggest you to sleep with mouth closed and for this you can stick a vertical strip of micropore tape over the closed lips..
It will enforce nasal breathing..
You can also sip water every time you get up at night..
In case if you find difficulty breathing through nose consult a Physician and get evaluated..
