What Caused Illness, Shivering, Temperature And Fingertip Numbness?

Hi, I started with flu like symptoms yesterday afternoon. This afternoon i started to feel really ill, with cold shivers and a high temperature. After a while I started to feel numbness in my fingertips. It is better now, about 3 hours later. I was wondering what the reason was for this and if I should go and see a doctor? I am a 49 year old female.

The fingertip numbness may be from a vitamin B12 deficiency or a magnesium deficiency so I would check for those
