What Cause Vomiting After Surgery For Blocked Intestines?
My husband had surgery 2 weeks ago Saturday to remove scar tissue from a previous surgery that had blocked his intestines. The Dr. said it had crimped them like a water hose. He was released from the hospital on Christmas Eve. The Sunday evening after Christmas Eve he started vomiting and has vomited at least twice a day since then. I called his gastro Dr. and they called him in meds for naseau but he continues to be sick to his stomach and throw up after he eats. He is not eating or drinking much at all and when he does it always comes back up. He said the pain is in his lower left side.

thank you for the question.I would suggest few investigations to explore the cause.
1. there should be liver function tests.
2.An upper GI endoscopy
3. an ultrasound of abdomen
he must take ondansetron tabs 1 hour before meals twicea day
supplement with electrolytes and fruit juices and liquid or semi-solid diet
After these tests you may write to us or consult a gastroenterologist or see a gastroenterologist straight away and follow investigations as he may advise
