What Cause Sudden Nose Bleed?

Late one night I was sleeping and awoke to what felt like a blood nose. After scrambling out of bed and getting some toilet paper over my nose (everyithing is coming from the right nostral only) I looked at it amd it was a clear liquid with an redish (but very faint) tint. Along with looking like an abundance of clear, unusually runny mucus mixed with blood, it had a strong smell of iron and has an awful taste in the back of my throat. Note: I had used a q-tip and tried to clean my right ear deeper than what might be considered needed , is there any need to worry? I had read about people having brain fluid leaking out of their nose but most suffered from headaches and have had head injuries, neither of which I have.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you child have sudden nose bleed . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like infection , trauma , allergic and nonallergic rhinitis. , hypertension and use of blood thinning medications . Nose bleeding in case of head injury sometimes become a emergency condition if there are symptoms like dizziness , vomiting and neck pain you should go to emergency . Need not to worry. You should avoid touching or picking nose with any sharp object. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , MRI and do physical examination . Doctor may refer you to neurologist if he/she finds problem to be related with brain injury or problem related to nose . For now put pressure on your nose and apply ice packs .
