Since the loose stools remained for 2 weeks, we need to get a proper diagnosis about the cause. Get the stool tested for three consecutive days. Get a proper course of an antibiotic active against intestinal infection, add-on metronidazole, activated charcoal tablets, a PPI like Omeprazole which might have been advised by your Son s Doctor and symptomatic treatment. The pain above belly button can be due to colitis too, as also due to pancreatitis and so on. Hence needs an upper GI Endoscopy, Ultrasonography of the abdomen as a preliminary investigations and confirmation by a Contrast enhanced CT scan of there is any positive finding on ultrasound to get a proper management.
