What Caues Pins And Needles Sensation On Sole Of Feet?

My feet experience "pins and needles" on the soles and the soles hurt. I sometimes feel like there is a plantar wart on the bottom of each foot The pain is worse after spending time on concrete floors. I have tried corrective arch support insoles to no avail. I am not diabetic. My doctor diagnosed the problem as arthritis, which I have in my knees and ankles. Is there anything I can do to relieve the pain? At age 69, my primary exercise is golf, and I prefer to walk.

Hello and thank you for your question. The pins and needles sensation that you are
experiencing sounds like neuropathy. Arthritis does not usually cause sensation. I would suggest that your doctor test you for B 12 deficiency as it may also cause neuropathy. There are several medications that can be used to treat neuropathy such as gabapentin and tri- cyclic antidepressants. Alcohol may also cause neuropathy, so if you are drinking any alcohol it would be a good idea to stop that
