What Casues Tingling Sensation In The Chin After An Injury?

5 months ago i got hit really hard in a fastpitch game in the chin. It left a bruise and numbed my leg. Of course I iced it and took some anti-inflammatory medicines Now whenever anything touches my leg it feels like an electic shock going throughout my chin. And it is still numb. What should i do about it and is it serious ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Small nerve damages go along with injuries. This may explain the symptoms you are feeling.Such symptoms may be felt for a very long time.I will suggest you try the following:
-Regular massage/physiotherapy of affected areas
-Take B complex vitamins
If symptoms persist, you may see your Doctor for some nerve stimulant like renerve plus. You Doctor may also investigate you for inionic imbalances like hypocalcemia and hypomagnesemia.
Hope this will help
Regards
