What Cases Sudden Numbness In The Left Arm Along With Headache?

Yesterday I fell asleep on the sofa in a semi sitting position, something I have done for several years now. After I woke up I couldn’t lift my left arm or move my head either way without pain. Ok chalking it up to my position, while sleeping last night it’s not getting better and I did ibuprofen, ice, heat and muscle relaxers and it was 4am. Right now I have taken more I understand 2 more doses of muscle relaxers and heat and I’m in terrible pain. What should I do?? Help Lynn

Hello,

It may be Saturday night palsy. You might have slept on the nerves of your arm and back. The major nerves when injured will have numbness and pains which might be very severe and usually takes weeks to subside also.

So, kindly take any analgesic available in the medical store. Any painkillers like Tramadol or Diclofenac can help for temporary relief. You can even take vitamin B12 supplementation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
