What Can Cause Sore Throat And Pain In The Bones After Plucking Out Garden Weeds?

Last Monday I helped my son move, then pulled weeds. The next day I went to his new house and pulled weeds all day. Wednesday I started getting a sore throat, Thursday I couldn't breathe because of all the mucous. Today my bones hurt to move. If it's the flu, ok, but I worry about a parasite since I've been digging in the dirt

Hi,

Your symptoms appear more like cold or flu. In case if there are some other associated symptom then you can consult an Otolaryngologist or an Emergency room and get evaluated.

For now, follow the following remedies for symptomatic relief:
- Gargle with a warm saline solution that is by mixing 1 teaspoon salt in a glass of water and warm it to make a lukewarm solution.
- Take a combination of decongestant like Phenylephrine, mucolytic like Ambroxol and anti-allergic Levocetirizine and another combination of Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen.
- Take cough expectorant containing Guaifenesin and cough suppressant containing Dextromethorphan.
- Chew a vitamin C pellet.
- Do steam inhalations.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora,
