What Can Cause Dizziness Followed By Diarrhea And Vomiting?

My aunt is 74, yesterday she had a very sudden onset of dizziness/faintness, followed by a single episode of diarrhea/vomiting, followed by fever/sweats, then chills. Afterward, she slept for several hours, got up to get a drink, (Vernor s; we re from Mich.), went back to bed, and slept for another 12 hours. Today, she feels fine. She takes no prescription meds, had been feeling fine.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Probably she may deveoped food poisoning or acute BPPV or labyrinthitis or viral fever with hypotension etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Just drink plenty of liquids, take rest. If symptoms not improved please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
