What Can Cause An Extremely Itchy Puss Filled Bumps On The Skin Overnight?

Hello. I have dime sized red rumps in various different places on my body. Not in clusters. Some of the bumps get to even being a nickle sized in a couple places. My bed is Brand new. I ve had it less than a month. I checked every part of it for bed bugs, and I believe the cause may be flea s. As the blankets I received from my Grand mother s house, we re down stairs where her 2 Cats spend alot of time. Although, I ve never seen any of the insects leaping about. I just know that every time I lay down to go to sleep. I wake up in the morning with more bumps. As far as I can tell. No other bumps appear during the day or when I m up. I merely wake up, and find that more are there. They are extremely itchy, and I believe after scratching them enough. Have clear puss coming from them, If I accidentally scratch too hard. I hope I ve provided enough sufficient information to help with this diagnosis.

Hi,

It may be prurigo simplex with secondary bacterial infection.

Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment.

I would recommend you to take a course of oral steroid in tapering dose. Antihistaminics like cetirizine 10 mg daily may be taken. A course of antibiotics may be also added to improve the infection. Apply antibiotic cream initially. Then steroid cream may be applied. Avoid soap while bathing. .Avoid woollen blankets at night while sleeping.

Hope this helps.
