Hard bump at roof of mouth seems to be infection and if not treated infection can spread to deeper tissues and cause abscess / cellulitis, in advance stages it will make mouth opening difficult and painful.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to maintain complete oral hygiene by brushing twice daily. Avoid sharp and spicy food as it could be due to acid reflux. Drink plenty of water. Take oral antibiotic Clindamycin. If symptoms keep on persisting visit oral surgeon once and get it examined and start treatment accordingly.
