What Can Be The Effects Of Inhaling Harsh Cleaning Chemicals?

I was cleaning with some rather harsh chemicals and may have inhaled some fumes. I coughed initially but felt fine after taking a short break so I continued cleaning (all told I was cleaning with these chemicals for about an hour, though the fumes weren t airborne for more than a few minutes). A couple of hours later I started feeling mild chest/lung discomfort. There is no pain, but I am still concerned about the exposure. I took a couple ibuprofen and have been breathing deeply and drinking lots of water, but I haven t noticed any change. Am I doing everything I can and/or should be doing? Is this something I just need to wait out until I feel better, or should I consider seeking medical attention? Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

thank you for you questiin. Chemicals with fumes should be handled carefully and used in a well ventillated area. However, given the history you mentioned i would suggest to seek medical attention since you had chest tightness. Theres no need for ibuprofen. Just try breathing fresh air until you get to see your doctor.
