What Can I Do About Weakness In The Legs?

I’ve been on Atorvastatin 10 mg for a long time. I’m having real problems with my legs now, like if I stand a long time, my legs get weak and Very shaky! If I bend/stoop down for something, my legs have no strength, so I go down. I have to crawl to a solid chair etc., so I can use my arms to get up. Again my legs are shaky. It can last for several hours. I’ve always been a strong walker with good legs. My dr. today took me off the Atorvastatin. What can I expect?

Hello,

If your symptoms are related to Atorvastatin adverse effects, it will take a couple of weeks for you to get well as before. Anyway, I recommend performing nerve conduction studies in order to exclude neuropathy and checking vitamin B12 plasma levels.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
