What Are The Withdrawal Symptoms Of Oxycodone?

I have been taking oxycodone for years. I have been taking just thirty mg each night for about a week now and have run out. My doc refused to treat me bc his NP was not very nice to me last time I saw her and I am moving to a different pain doc. The problem is that I don t have anybody that will help me through the withdrawal process. I am scared. I am unable to sleep well in the best ciurcumstances and Now I am reading that it is even worse when withdrawing. How bad is this going to get? I have some leftover MS Contin...what would taking that do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Understand your concern.
Following are the withdrawl symptoms of oxycodone:
Fatigue
Nausea, vomiting, malaise
Cold and cough
Diarrhoea, sweating,
muscle pain
running eye
Palpitation
Disturbance in sleep

Gnerallly symptoms appear after 24 hours after withdrawl, as day progress severity will increase.
Psychological symptoms may remain long time up to year after withdrawl.

You should consult the psychiatric for that
They may give: naltrexone and clonidine
Rehabilation therapy
Behavioural therapy

Hope this may help you
Best regards
Dr. Saagar
