Hi, I have been taking Ativan for about a year and a half. Starting on 0.5 mg as needed and increasing over time with the last increase Aug. 2014 at 1 mg. 3 x a day. Started to wean on Oct. 16th and am now taking .25 in the morning .05 in the afternoon and .25 at bedtime. It has been a lousy month of not feeling well. what can I expect if I stop taking it altogether at this point and what do you suggest? Thank you, Lisa
Hello Welcome here. The withdrawal from ativan can cause dizziness, tachycardia, tremors, fainting and sometimes seizures. The abrupt withdrawal from ativan is not recommended. You can gradually reduce the dose under your doctor's supervision. Hope this helps. Thanks
