What Are The Uses And Side Effects Of Methadone Tablets?

My mother is a 64 year old and has been on oxycontin for the last 7 years she is on the 80 mg, her ne w doctor is wanting her to go to methadone, she is a very bad diabetic and in kidney failure, I am asking for some advise on how to direct her in the right choice.

See , methadone is a powerful synthetic analgesic drug which is similar to morphine in its effects but less sedative and is used as a substitute drug in the treatment of morphine and heroin addiction.
Side effects: Commonly these include dizziness, sleepiness, vomiting, and sweating. Serious risks include opioid abuse or a decreased effort to breathe. Heart arrhythmia(heart rate irregularity) may also occur.
