Just came from the doctor where she looked at sores on my genitals and prescribed Valtrax. She told me it appeared to be a viral infection. She said it is quite common and that it was nothing to worry about. I joked that I thought it was herpes and she did not indicate it was. You can imagine my surprise when I picked up the prescription and it is wrote on the top - for genital herpes . Shouldn t the doctor have mentioned this and done further testing or at least discussed future sexual partners. I m confused. She acted like it was no big deal, but I m pretty freaked out that it seems I have herpes and I know there is no cure for this. Could you shed some light? Thanks
