What Are The Symptoms Of Depression?

my friend believes that I can change feeling depressed in a second and just keeps telling me that I am being dumb and no one can help me but myself. Is there any evidence of biological factors in the brain that I can prove to him I am not making myself feel this way?

Depression happens due to serotonin imbalance and in that case, patients need antidepressant like SSRIs or TCAs or SNRIs to maintain the level of serotonin in brain. You can not control level of serotonin on your own. You need help of antidepressant. In case, you need further knowledge about depression, you can ask.
