What Are The Symptoms Of A Miscarriage?

I’m not sure if I’m having a miscarriage. I missed my period last month. About a week ago I believe I had a cyst on my left ovary rupture (I have PCOS) and I started bleeding last night and today I’m having labor like cramps. It’s a sharp pain that hurts in my lower abdomen and my lower back.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The Symptoms of a miscarriage include the following ( Not all necessary to be present).

1- Severe abdominal pain.
2- Vaginal discharge.
3- Vaginal bleeding.
4- Back pain and weakness.

Your gynecologist will perform a pelvic exam, an ultrasound test, and blood work to confirm a miscarriage. If It's complete, no further treatment is usually required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
