What Are The Symptoms And Treatment For Bipolar Disorder?

Hi my wife suffers from I believe Bi polar although she has never acknowledged this. She was seeing a psychotherapist up to about 2 yrs ago. She made all types of excuses to avoid going to see the therapist and it seemed to be going well up to this time. We are married with 4 children aged 9-15 yrs old.I have always been the soul provider - homes cars holidaysetc.. and this was a never a problem until I closed my business 3 yrs ago due to recession and money has been tight since this time. But its been a kind of hell since this time , she can attack me verbally without any warning even though Ive been trying really hard and studying to find work, but I tend to lose my temper and give her as as good as she gives me and I hate myself for this afterwards- i know I should nt lose my temper but this can be so trying-dont know what to do-shes actually asking me to see someone about my temper-Im really confused....

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. I can understand your emotions. Introspection and corrective measures are always good. You are also disappointed and desperate with your life circumstances. Anger and temper tantrums become common in such scenariol Wise people understand the situation and undertake corrective measures. You are wise, and you know how to deal with it. If required, you may consult a psychologist for anger management techniques.

Your wife - The given information about your wife is not enough to diagnose her as bi-polar. The symptoms should show two extremes to be diagnosed as bi-polar. Two poles, one of extreme depression and other hyper activity. She may also be unipolar. But proper diagnosis is required. Talk to her psychotherapist to know the details. In the mean time, keep your calm and take care.
