What Are The Suggestions For Side Effects Of Compounded Thyroid Medicine?

I would like to know why I cannot take compounded thyroid medicine, and certainly can t take synthroid. I started with T-d compounded, and got hoarse. Very hoarse, so I stopped that. Then was checked again a year later tsh was 4.1. Dr. gave me coumpounded again, adding t-4. The pills are 5mcg t-3, and 50mcg t-4. I feel really bad and it is affecting my stomach. What do you say ?

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hi,

Stomach ache is not a common side effect of thyroid hormones. Usually, we do not recommend a combination of FT4 and FT3, only in rare cases when FT4 does not improve the symptoms of hypothyroidism.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mirjeta Guni,
