What Are The Side Effects Of Contraceptive Pills(Lofeminal) In Pregnancy?
I and my hubby got married on 18 Dec.2010. We have been trying to conceive but it has nt worked for us. Before we got married I took emergency contraceptive pills(Lofeminal). This resulted in irregular menses. As of now the doc has prescribed me fertomid 50 for 20 days starting from 3 day after menses. Is nt this too much?
Lofeminal is an emergency contraceptive. This drug may cause irregular bleeding as a side effect.
Irregular bleeding also occurs due to hormonal imbalance. Polycystic ovaries is an important cause of irregular periods.Ovulation may not occur in the menstrual cycle of women suffering from Pcod.
Fertomid contains clomiphene which is an ovulation induction drug which will cause ovulation and increase the chance of pregnancy.
Hence it does not negatively affect pregnancy. You can continue the drug without hesitstion for the prescribed 20 days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
