Hi de ..i m a 30 year old hvjng type 2 diabetes since last 3 years..i hv been taking galvusmet 1000 mg since a year..but rectnly my Dr has prescribed me cetapine 1000 mg along diabetice mdcn..wht wil b the side effect.as I am staying outside, will d blood sugar level fall down..will it b safe to hv ths mdcn.kindly suggest

HI Thanks for posting your query to Healthcaremagic .
Cetapin contains Metformin . In fact Galvus met also contains Metformin with additional other drug . So you have been taking this metformin from before in the form of Galvus met and now you doctor has given additional dosage of metformin . So since you didn't had any side effects with Galvus met you will not experience any with Cetapin either .
Cetapin by itself will not cause low sugars , but in combination with Galvus may cause if the dose if high . Whether the dose is high can be told if you can tell me your Blood sugar values when you were on Galvus Met only .
Other side effects include Diarrhea , Nausea , Dyspepsia , Abdominal Pain , Indigestion , Lactic acidosis , Megaboblastic anemia , .. But as said earlier the chance of these side effects in you is less .
