What Are The Side Effects Of Benazepril 10 Mg And Diethylpropion 75 Mg?

I have been taking Benazpril 10 mg for 6 months and now the doctor has increased it to 20 mg on Friday. I have started taking Diethylpropion 75 mg for weight loss. Today I have felt washedout and tired. I was wondering if there is a drug interaction between the two. When taking Benazpril 10 mg I felt fine.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Benazepril is anti hypertensive medication of the Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI) group .Your doctor would have increased your dose because your blood pressure is not controlled on 10mg per day. Tiredness, dizziness and drowsiness are known side effects of it. Even though the medicine is in the correct therapeutic dose, side effects increase with increased dose.
Interaction between Diethylpropion and Benazpril is not known.
If tiredness is very bothersome, you may want to discuss it with your doctor to see if any alternative medicine without this problem can be used.

Take Care
